About

Hi, everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to read, laugh at or even just glance at this new blog adventure of mine. What qualifications do I have to write in front of such a large audience? None. Zip.  I am a qualified, and I like to think fairly skilled, Occupational Therapist specializing in geriatrics and hospice care.  I have an undergraduate degree from Springfield College in Springfield, MA in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College as well.  Prior to that, I was a standout student-athlete from Bucksport High School- later following my passion and skill of softball onto Springfield at the collegiate level.

So, where is that qualification to write you ask? Well, writing has always been a hobby of mine. I thought when I was young I would be a sports journalist- I was published several times as a young adult and then my sports career got in the way.  Funny how things come full circle- because now I’m here writing (alas) about fitness and motivation. Because I have a lot of each of these. Check on the blogs entries- and you’ll see more!

Currently, I reside in South Portland with my husband and two wonderful boys, ages 4 and 6. I work full time as an Occupational Therapist at the VNA Home Health and Hospice.  My hobbies and passions include fitness of all kinds but specifically training for many races including road races and triathlons, camping, hiking and enjoying the State of Maine with my boys!
